Compare Lighthouse Local vs. Alhena
Alhena is an e-commerce AI suite, shopping and support agents first, with an AI Visibility module its docs label beta that tracks which of your products ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, Perplexity, and Google AI recommend, from a free plan up to $999 a month billed annually. Lighthouse Local covers ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, Perplexity, and Google AI on every plan, by city and service area or nationally, with fixes our specialists can make. Here's how they compare, every Alhena fact sourced from its own pages.
Which one is built for you?
Two honest lists. Pick the one that sounds like your week.
Choose Lighthouse Local if
- You want a visibility tracker you can buy on its own, sized by the questions you track, rather than bundled with a support chatbot sized by conversations.
- You sell in towns and want each question pointed at the city and service area a customer is standing in, not one region setting for the whole brand.
- You want every question checked weekly and your priority ones daily on the plan you buy, instead of a monthly refresh on the first paid tier.
- You want a plain-English answer with no dashboard to learn, set up in ten minutes, and a fix list our specialists carry out once you've approved each change.
- You run several clients and want each one inside a dashboard under your brand, with unlimited client reports, on a published agency plan.
Choose Alhena if
- You sell a catalog and want to know which SKUs the assistants recommend, whether the product card showed your price and rating, and whether it named the product or only the brand.
- You want fixes that ship from the same screen, an FAQ generated from an unanswered question and published straight to a Shopify product page.
- You want off-site opportunities ranked by domain rating, with the pitch email or Reddit comment drafted for you.
- You want a free plan with no card, a first visibility snapshot of five questions, and an MCP endpoint that answers from Claude, ChatGPT or Codex.

Plans, side by side
Lighthouse Local prices come straight from our plan catalog. Alhena's are what its pricing page showed on October 22, 2026. A prompt count on its own undersells coverage, because Lighthouse Local runs every tracked prompt on ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, Perplexity, and Google AI, so compare the answer checks a month.

Read Alhena's pricing page as two tables stacked on one card. The top table sizes each plan by conversation credits for its AI shopping and support agents, 25 conversations on Free, 200 on Essentials, 550 on Growth and 1,200 on Scale, with overage at $1.20 a credit. The bottom table, headed AI Visibility, is the part this page is about. It gives Free 5 tracked questions on one engine as a one-time snapshot, Essentials 25 questions refreshed monthly, Growth 75 refreshed weekly and Scale 150 refreshed weekly, all on its five engines, with 10 to 25 competitor benchmarks and 5 to 50 content optimisation credits. The prices are $199, $499 and $999 a month, billed annually and charged upfront. For a store that already wants the support agent, the visibility module rides along.
The question for any vendor is what the price actually buys and how often it's refreshed. If you only want to know whether the assistants recommend you, the first paid tier here is $2,388 a year for 25 questions read once a month, and the visibility questions share the bill with a conversation allowance.
Lighthouse Local sizes each plan by a monthly allowance of AI answer checks, shown on the pricing cards above, and nothing else is bundled in. Every plan gets a weekly sweep over every question and daily checks on the ones you mark, across ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, Perplexity, and Google AI, so the refresh you get isn't a function of which tier you can afford.
Which products get recommended, and where
Alhena's angle is the product, not the brand. Its AI Visibility page describes tracking at SKU level, which products the assistants recommend, whether the product card showed pricing and ratings, whether it was positioned as premium or best value, and whether the answer named the SKU or only the brand. It flags products with strong on-site performance but low AI visibility, and the whole thing is built around a catalog connected from Shopify, WooCommerce, BigCommerce or Salesforce Commerce Cloud. For a brand with a few hundred SKUs and a shopping query to win, that's a sharper lens than a brand mention count.
The question that follows is where each question is pointed. Its getting-started doc has one language and region setting per brand, pre-filled by auto-detection, and nothing on the pages we read describes a city, a service area, a branch or a Google Business Profile. So a question about a product is asked from one market, which fits a store that asks every question from one market and leaves out a business whose customers stand in three towns.
Lighthouse Local points each question at a city and service area, or at a country, on every plan, so a gap in one town shows up as that town. The ranked fix list says what to change for that place, and the same tracker serves a national or SaaS brand that would rather ask its questions nationwide.
From a gap to a published fix
Alhena's recommendations tab is its most concrete feature. For a product or page it lists unanswered questions, each with a Generate FAQ button that writes the answer and can publish it straight to a Shopify product page or copy out as HTML or JSON-LD, content ideas with an outline and the competitor pages behind them, and off-site opportunities, bloggers, Reddit threads and YouTube channels ranked by domain rating, with a draft pitch email or comment one click away. Those drafts spend content optimisation credits, 5 a month on Essentials up to 50 on Scale. Above that, the Enterprise plan lists a fully managed AI visibility program, with no further detail published.
The question to ask is who does the work the catalog can't. An outreach email still needs sending, a Reddit comment still needs an account, and a listing, a citation or a Google Business Profile still needs someone with the login. On the agency side, Alhena's pricing and docs publish no client workspaces, white-label reports, agency plan or partner pricing on the pages we read.
Lighthouse Local hands every plan a ranked fix list in plain English, and if nobody on your side wants that job, our specialists make the fixes, including on-page changes, Google Business Profile management and local citations, each one waiting for your approval. For agencies, every client's dashboard carries your brand through a white-label dashboard with unlimited client reports, and our self-serve agency plans carry a published price. If your fixes live inside a Shopify catalog and you'd rather publish them yourself, Alhena was built for that.
Frequently asked questions
Is Lighthouse Local an alternative to Alhena?
For the AI visibility part, yes. Alhena is an e-commerce suite whose AI Visibility module tracks which products ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, Perplexity, and Google AI recommend, with FAQs it can publish to Shopify, so it suits a store that already wants its support and shopping agents. Lighthouse Local is built around the AI answer itself. It checks ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, Perplexity, and Google AI on every plan by city and service area or nationally, ranks the fixes in plain English, and has our specialists make them if you'd rather not do the work yourself.
Which AI platforms does Alhena track?
Its docs list five answer surfaces, ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Gemini, Perplexity and Claude, with ChatGPT, AI Overviews and Gemini on by default and Perplexity and Claude available to switch on. Its pricing FAQ says paid plans monitor all five of them and the Free plan monitors one engine. Google AI Mode isn't named on the pages we read, and its product page lists four engines plus ChatGPT Shopping. Lighthouse Local checks ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, Perplexity, and Google AI on every plan, including the first one.
How much does Alhena cost?
Its pricing page lists a Free plan at $0 and three paid plans shown per month billed annually and charged upfront. Essentials is $199 a month, $2,388 a year, with 25 AI questions refreshed monthly. Growth is $499 with 75 questions refreshed weekly, and Scale is $999 with 150 questions refreshed weekly. Enterprise is quoted. Each plan also carries a conversation allowance for its support and shopping agents, with overage at $1.20 a credit. Our plans show a monthly allowance of AI answer checks on the cards above, billed monthly or annually.
Does Alhena track local questions by city?
Its getting-started doc sets one language and region per brand, pre-filled by auto-detection, and the product is built around a connected product catalog. Nothing on the pages we read describes a city, service-area or Google Business Profile option, or per-location tracking for a chain. That answers for a store selling from one market and not for a business that sells in three towns. Lighthouse Local points each question at a city and service area, or nationally, on every plan, so a gap in one town shows up as that town.
Does Alhena have a free trial?
Yes, two ways. Its Free plan costs $0 with no credit card and gives you a one-time visibility snapshot of 5 questions on one engine. Essentials, Growth and Scale each carry a 14-day trial with half the plan's monthly credits, a payment method or Shopify billing approval required, one trial per organization, and billing starts automatically when the trial ends unless you cancel first. Lighthouse Local's self-serve plans include a 14-day free trial, every feature included, with tracking from day one.
Can agencies white-label Alhena?
Its pricing page, product page and AI Visibility docs don't publish a white-label option, client workspaces, an agency plan or partner pricing, and an agencies page isn't on its site map. The closest unit is AI profiles, 5 on paid plans and unlimited on Enterprise, which the pricing page doesn't define as client accounts. Lighthouse Local includes the white-label dashboard on every agency plan, with unlimited client reports, and Beacon for a branded audit on your own site.
Can I ask ChatGPT or Claude about my Alhena data?
Yes. Its docs describe an MCP endpoint, with US and EU addresses, that connects Claude, Claude Code, Codex and ChatGPT and answers questions such as how visible your brand is across AI search engines, which sources cite you and who beats you on a prompt, once AI Visibility has completed its first analysis. Its REST API is listed as available to enterprise customers and covers the support agent rather than visibility data. Lighthouse Local offers the same kind of connection, so you can ask ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini about your own visibility data, and our dashboard answers in plain English for the people who'd rather not.
